Happy Valentine's Day!
Three dozen roses: one for each of the years we've been married. I love you, Jenny!
Monday evening's master class was a great delight and success. My confession: I was dreadfully nervous for it because I had never really worked with young (pre-high school) students before, and much of the audience were teachers who are legendary for their brilliant work with students of this age group. However, it not only went well, but it was riotously fun for me. All seven (Yes, seven! It's the largest number I've ever had in a single master class.) played their pieces to the hilt, and with conviction and charisma. It helped to make my job a whole lot easier.
I truly believe that being a father has made me a better teacher. It makes sense, if I think about it; after all, isn't the ability to fully empathize and be compassionate to the needs of a student half the battle in studio teaching?
Welp, I'm off to tell all my students to go have children. JUST KIDDING!!!! You guys need to get jobs first!! :)
